Reserve the entire property for a unique private getaway with your loved ones or a special retreat and event, offering you the utmost privacy and tranquility. With only six suites, La Valise San Miguel is an unparalleled venue for an exclusive hotel buyout.
**Private events.** Nestled in the heart of San Miguel de Allende's bustling city center, a tranquil haven awaits behind a stunning colonial facade. La Valise San Miguel, accessed through a modern moon door, is a surreal retreat seamlessly blending design, culture, and nature. Resembling a curated gallery or the chic pied-à-terre of a world-renowned collector, it stands as the ultimate destination for unforgettable weddings and events.
**Your event.** La Valise San Miguel is an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony and sit-down dinner for up to 40 guests. You can start with a ceremony and cocktail in our lush courtyard, followed by a sit-down reception on our rooftop area, and continue the celebration with a party in the courtyard. We can also host standing events for up to 80 guests — a perfect choice for rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, or brunches.
**Capacity**
- 40 guests for a sit-down dinner/event
- 80 guests for a standing event
- Accommodation for up to 12 guests (6 suites of double occupancy)
**Buyout policy**
- Events require a buyout of all 6 rooms for a minimum of three (3) nights; a buyout includes the ability to host at least one event at the property.
- An event fee of $2,000 USD applies, and an F&B minimum of $6,000 USD is required for events or weddings.
- A 30% deposit of the accommodation buyout and F&B quote confirms the booking; a 70% deposit of the F&B event cost is due 30 days before the event.
- Wedding bookings are accepted within a 12 to 14-month time frame. Menu tastings can be booked 72 hours in advance.
- On the day of the event, our hospitality staff and house manager assist guests and planners.
**Catering (from the April 2024 events brochure; all prices + 18% service)**
- Hors d’œuvres: 6 pieces per person $25 USD, 10 pieces per person $35 USD
- Family-style dinner: Option 1 $70 USD per person, Option 2 $85 USD per person (minimum 20 guests)
- Late-night sliders: $6 USD per person (minimum 20 guests)
- Open bar per person: Basic from $40 USD / 2 hours, Standard from $60 USD / 2 hours, Premium from $80 USD / 2 hours
**Good to know**
- Proper permits from the local municipality are required for weddings, events, and loud music; fees are determined per event.
- Standard events must conclude by 12am; vendors are expected to leave by 1am. Wedding days include a 12-hour timeframe for setup and breakdown.
- Music volume must not exceed 55 decibels between 4:00pm and 10:00pm, and 50 decibels from 10:00pm until 1:00am.
- Fireworks, fire shows, wishing lanterns, and confetti/small plastics are not permitted.
- Venue rental rates do not include external vendors, ceremony items, music/entertainment, decor or extra lighting. La Valise can suggest professional local planners.
- The venue provides limited protection from wind and rain, particularly in the garden area.
